Backups of a dial plan
Find the last ten versions of a dial plan, open the one you want in the editor, and put it back into production by saving it.

How it works
Every time you save a plan, the server copies the previous state before overwriting it. You always have the version from before your last change, plus the nine before that.
Opening a version does not replace anything. It is only drawn in the visual editor, so you can review it. It is the save that follows, if any, that puts it back into production. A message reminds you of this when you open it.
That save is a save like any other: it in turn creates a backup of the state it replaces. Going back therefore never loses a version.
An empty plan does not produce a backup: the copy only happens if the plan contains at least one node.
Step by step
- Open Dial plans in the menu.
- On the plan's row, click the clock icon. Its tooltip reads Backups.
- Read the list. The Date column gives the time of the save, the Content column the number of nodes and links in that version.
- Identify the version you want by its date and size: a version noticeably smaller than the others often points to the change that caused the damage.
- Click Open. The visual editor window opens and draws that version. A message confirms that nothing has been saved yet.
- Review the diagram.
- Click Save to put that version back into production.
- Check: call the number that enters this plan.
If it doesn't work
"No backups yet." The first one will be taken at the next save. A version is copied before it is overwritten: a plan that has never been re-saved since this feature was introduced therefore has none.
The version from three weeks ago is no longer in the list. Only the last ten are kept. Each save adds one and drops the oldest: on a plan that gets edited a lot, ten versions may cover only a single day.
I opened a version, and the phone system didn't change. That is the intended behavior. Click Save in the editor to put that version back into production.
"Unreadable version." The version could not be read back. The editor then reloads the current plan instead of leaving an empty canvas, which an accidental Save would send into production.
I don't see the clock icon on the rows. Action buttons only appear with write access to dial plans. In read-only mode, the list remains visible but without these buttons.
